Posts tagged ithica

In a half an hour I am going to meet an amazing woman and drive five hours upstate with her to Ithaca, New York to attend a four day intensive workshop about using mitigation in the sentencing phase of death penalty cases. I am incredibly excited but also nervous, here is why:

- Since all the rooms are booked we are sharing a room, note I have never met this woman and aspire to work with her one day, she is also one of the instructors at the workshop (read: I have never been more terrified of sleep farts in my life).

- Of the 36 workshop attendees I believe that I am the only one not currently representing capital defendants on a full time basis though I am currently interviewing for positions to do so or ones that will help me get those positions ultimately (read: I am throwing myself in the mix with the big dogs).

But, provided I keep my butt cheeks clenched in my sleep and remember to listen more than speak (always a problem for me) this should be an amazing learning experience for me.  

I have no idea what if any internet access I will get so know that I am internally liking all your posts (especially, those of you with adorable munchkins I have had the pleasure to watch grow).
